Charlie Kirk's Ex-Colleague Condemns New Death Conspiracy

Addressing Conspiracy Theories Around Charlie Kirk's Death

New conspiracy theories have emerged surrounding the tragic death of popular political commentator Charlie Kirk, but these claims have been firmly rejected by one of his closest associates. Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of the Charlie Kirk Show, has taken to social media to directly address the allegations and dismiss them as baseless.

Kolvet specifically responded to claims that Mikey McCoy, Kirk’s right-hand man, acted suspiciously in the immediate aftermath of the shooting in September. He called the accusations an “extremely disgusting attack” on McCoy, who is described as one of Kirk’s closest friends.

The initial claims were made by two lesser-known online content creators and later amplified by Candace Owens, a former close friend of Kirk. Owens has since introduced her own theories linking Kirk’s death to Israel. However, the leadership of Turning Point USA has addressed many of these conspiracy theories, acknowledging that some leaked text messages regarding Kirk’s views on Israel were authentic.

Confronting the Claims

Kolvet criticized the latest accusations, stating, “Someone made a video that is attacking Mikey, Charlie’s friend, Charlie’s chief of staff, a guy all of us know, a guy who we’ve seen on the show here the last few weeks.” He continued, “They are attacking him, claiming based on a few seconds of clips that he allegedly has a nonchalant or calm reaction to Charlie’s murder.”

He added, “I’m just going to be blunt about this. This is an extremely disgusting attack.”

The theories about McCoy originated from a video released by right-wing creators Ian Caroll and James Li on Friday. Candace Owens then amplified these claims during an episode of her show on Monday afternoon. In the clip, Owens points out that McCoy was behind a tent when Kirk was shot and immediately put his phone to his ear.

Owens claimed, “There was no dialling, saying, Mikey didn’t have time to dial.” She then questioned McCoy about who he was speaking with, noting that he did not respond. “Weird. If that was me… I would instantly hit back… Here’s my call log. Here’s who I was on the phone with,” she said.

However, Kolvet explained that he had spoken to McCoy about what happened in the moments after the shooting. Both were so traumatized and shocked at the time that they struggled to recall details. Despite this, McCoy remembers that he called Erika Kirk, Charlie’s wife, and then his father, pastor Robert McCoy.

Understanding the Context

Andrew Kolvet added, “Charlie had given me similar instructions, if anything ever happens to me, you call Erika, and he drilled that into Mikey’s brain so that when this moment of trauma happened, that he turned around and he knew he had to do it.”

Charlie Kirk was tragically shot dead while speaking at a college campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10th. A 22-year-old college dropout, Tyler Robinson, has been charged with the murder.
