Kim Kardashian Spreads Outlandish Moon Landing Theory

NASA Responds to Kim Kardashian's Moon Landing Conspiracy Theory

NASA has responded to a recent claim made by Kim Kardashian, the 45-year-old founder of Skims, who suggested on an episode of The Kardashians that the 1969 moon landing did not actually happen. In a brief social media message, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy addressed the claim with a clear and direct response.

“Yep, [Kim], we’ve been to the Moon before... 6 times!” Duffy wrote on X. He also mentioned that NASA’s Artemis mission aims to return to the moon under the leadership of former President Donald Trump. “We won the last space race and we will win this one too,” he concluded.

Kardashian’s theory is not new and has been repeatedly debunked. According to her, the Apollo 11 astronauts, including the late Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, never actually went to the Moon. Instead, she claims they stayed in orbit while the world watched scenes filmed in a studio, which were then presented as evidence of a moon landing.

This theory was brought up during a conversation between Kardashian and co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the legal drama All’s Fair, which is set to premiere on Hulu. During their discussion, Kardashian referenced articles that supposedly quote both Armstrong and Aldrin. She claimed that Aldrin, now 95 years old, has let slip his "facade" and revealed the truth without realizing it.

“I think it didn’t happen,” she added. While Paulson appeared skeptical, she assured Kardashian that she would be doing a “massive deep dive” on the theory.

A producer for the reality show later asked Kardashian to confirm her belief in the conspiracy theory. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake,” she said. She then listed several questions she claims cast doubt on the moon landing, such as why there is no gravity on the moon but the flag appears to be blowing, or why the shoes in the museum have different footprints than those in the photos. She also questioned the absence of stars in the photographs.

Social media users often share videos of astronaut Buzz Aldrin being interviewed by Conan O’Brien, where he mentions that parts of the moon landing broadcasts were animated. However, Aldrin was actually referring to animations used by broadcasters at the time, which were intercut with real footage.

When asked how she would respond to people who doubted her, Kardashian said that everyone could do their own research. “They’re gonna say I’m crazy no matter what. But like, go to TikTok. See for yourself,” she said.

New episodes of The Kardashians air every Thursday on Hulu.
