Kathy Griffin, the well-known comedian and television personality, has shared a revealing story about her experience working with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears during their high-profile relationship. In a recent YouTube segment, she recalled an incident that took place years ago at an awards show, where she witnessed Timberlake displaying unkind behavior toward Spears.
Griffin, who is 64 years old, described how she wrote a short sketch involving Spears and herself, which was meant to be performed live on television. However, due to Spears' busy schedule, the two only had a brief rehearsal before going on stage. During this time, Griffin noticed that Timberlake was not treating Spears with respect.
"I wrote a little sketch where Britney and I were fighting over Justin," Griffin explained. "Britney was such a big star that she couldn't come to rehearsal, so we had to rehearse for just a couple of minutes right before we went out on live network television."
She continued, "Justin... was not totally respectful to Britney during our little rehearsal. He told his girlfriend at the time things like, 'Baby, don't do it like that. Baby, say it like this. Baby, don't roll your eyes like that. Baby, don't walk like that.'"
Griffin humorously added, "I was like, 'Baby, don't make me hit you one more time,' referring to Spears' first popular song." She also noted that Timberlake seemed very strict with Spears, which left her confused.
The comments from Griffin’s Instagram followers were mixed, with some suggesting that Timberlake was jealous of Spears. One person wrote, "Justin was jealous of Britney." Another commented, "As if Britney needed career tips or tips on how to be likable from HIM of all people 😂," while a third wrote, "He seems problematic."

Spears’ own account of her relationship with Timberlake has been equally revealing. In her 2023 memoir, she discussed how Timberlake encouraged her to have an abortion when she became pregnant with his child.
"I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated," she wrote. "But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."
She added, "I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father."

In addition to this, Spears revealed that Timberlake cheated on her during their relationship. She described how she was portrayed as "a harlot who'd broken the heart of America's golden boy" after they split.
"The truth: I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood," she said. "May I just say that on his explosive album and in all the press that surrounded it, Justin neglected to mention the several times he'd cheated on me?"
She also expressed her frustration at the time, saying, "I felt there was no way at the time to tell my side of the story. I couldn't explain, because I knew no one would take my side once Justin had convinced the world of his version. I don't think Justin realized the power he had in shaming me. I don't think he understands to this day."

The details of Spears’ relationship with Timberlake continue to spark conversation and debate. From the early days of their romance to the public breakdown, their story has been filled with highs and lows. As both celebrities continue to navigate their careers, the past remains a significant part of their legacies.
While some fans still hold onto the image of Timberlake as a beloved pop icon, others are reminded of the controversies that have followed him throughout his career. Meanwhile, Spears has used her platform to share her experiences and advocate for herself and others who have faced similar challenges.
The story of Spears and Timberlake serves as a reminder of the complexities of fame, relationships, and public perception. It also highlights the importance of personal agency and the need for understanding and empathy in the face of difficult circumstances.
