Sia's Husband Claims Her Sobriety in Custody Battle Shock Revelation

The Custody Battle Between Sia and Daniel Bernad

Singer Sia, known for her powerful voice and emotional performances, is currently embroiled in a high-profile custody battle with her estranged husband, Daniel Bernad. The dispute centers around their toddler son, Summi, and has taken a dramatic turn as Bernad has accused the Grammy-nominated artist of drug abuse in a recent legal filing. This accusation has led him to request sole custody of their child.

Sia, whose real name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, filed for divorce in Los Angeles this past March after a two-year marriage. According to court documents reviewed by Daily Mail, Bernad is seeking full custody of their son, whom they affectionately call Summi. He claims that Sia's ongoing struggle with drug addiction poses a significant threat to the toddler's well-being.

In the court filing, Bernad described Sia as an "unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse and addiction." He argued that she presents a "serious and immediate danger" to the 19-month-old child. Bernad also requested $77,245 in monthly child support, citing Sia's conduct as "reckless, dangerous," and suggesting that she shows "utter disregard for Summi's safety and well-being."

Sia, however, has denied these allegations, stating that she has maintained six months of sobriety. In a court filing, she claimed that Bernad's accusations were "entirely unfounded and misleading." She emphasized that there was "zero evidence" that the child was in any danger while she was caring for him.

The Adelaide-born musical artist revealed that she is currently in a drug rehab program that includes regular testing and a sober companion. She also mentioned that she had previously agreed to be drug tested but noted that Bernad had refused to do so.

Sia criticized Bernad's lifestyle, stating that it was incompatible with parenting. She pointed out that his "ongoing engagement in a nightlife and recreational drug-use lifestyle is incompatible with a healthy environment for our child." Sia added that Bernad's attempts to use her past sobriety journey against her were "intended only to distort the facts and undermine my credibility before this Court."

Bernad, on the other hand, has requested that Sia be randomly tested for drugs once a week, along with three random tests a month. He also raised concerns about Sia's behavior, particularly during a celebrity birthday party in March when she appeared "disoriented."

This custody battle has sparked numerous questions about the financial aspects of their divorce. How did Bernad justify his colossal $250,856 monthly spousal support request? What led Sia to the heart-wrenching decision of divorcing Dan Bernad just one day after their separation? Why is Bernad demanding such a staggering amount in spousal support from the pop star?

The answers to these questions remain unclear, but the situation highlights the complex nature of high-profile divorce cases. As the legal proceedings continue, both parties are likely to present more evidence and arguments to support their positions. The outcome of this case could have significant implications not only for Sia and Bernad but also for the broader conversation around parental rights and responsibilities.
